Really good place to go to buy presents for people. Has a large food section and the normal garden centre stuff. The cafe is award winning but I have never actually visited but it smells nice.

Breakfast Experience at Theftford Garden Centre My sister, nephew, and I decided to have breakfast at Theftford Garden Centre since we were in the area. I approached a waitress and asked her to explain the difference between the full English and the light breakfast. She informed me that the full breakfast included two sausages, two rashers of bacon, two eggs and two hash browns. I opted for the light, while my nephew, a body builder, chose the full breakfast. When our meals arrived, my nephew noticed that his full breakfast only contained one butcher sausage. I inquired with a senior staff member about what we had been told regarding the two sausages. She went away and returned to inform us that the full breakfast should only have one sausage, and if my nephew wanted an extra one, he would have to pay for it. This wasn’t my question, and it left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. However, since it was my nephew’s birthday, I decided not to make a fuss over what seemed to be an honest mistake by a young, otherwise delightful waitress who mentioned she had only been on the job for a few weeks.Additionally, they had mixed up our orders regarding white and wholemeal toast. I was taken aback by the response from the older lady, as I have been a frequent customer and have never experienced anything like this before. This is the only reason I did not give a five-star rating, as everything else, including my meal, was satisfactory.

Very friendly staff, fresh plants with very good display, good range of items to buy and 1st class restaurant. Our favourite Garden Centre although we live in Bury St Edmunds..

Not good, waited over half hour to be buzzed in told 20mins. Service was slow we had to ask to be served. Will not go to restaurant again

Having used the restaurant many times, it was always our go to place for tea & cake in the afternoon. We won't be back. It's now overpriced and the quality has definitely gone down. 1 slice of coffee and pecan cake which was always a favourite was so thin yet still charged at £5.19 it was around half It's normal size. We always came because you do dairy free cakes and scones. Because of the refurb the dairy free scones have been taken off the menu and the cakes have reduced in size. Sorry but won't be paying these prices again.

Used the cafe, experiencing some issues whilst having a refurb. One meal came out raw and was redone but still not nice, another stone cold and replaced. One was fine, however wasn’t what was described on the menu and had ingredients in it not liked or wanted and wouldn’t have been chosen. It was all very disappointing and at a push one meal was refunded and apologies made. It was supposed to be a nice gesture taking a friend for lunch, instead it was all a bit of a disaster and ruined the occasion entirely as none of us even got to eat at the same time.

Good customer service, friendly staff, delicious food, great range of products.. Updated Feb 2025: garden center is undergoing work but remains open. We stopped in for breakfast and a look round. Queue at the restaurant but plenty of very friendly staff. Felt let down this visit, the service was good but some food ordered was not delivered, (was given a refund), and some was poor quality. The breakfast in the Lime Kiln Kitchen was not good! My wife had a bacon roll which was fine, but the poached eggs on my Avocado with Poached Eggs on Sourdough were distinctly cold, the plate was warmer than the eggs! Also on one egg the white was still runny. Historically we always stop in here for either a meal or light lunch. Having been to so many good restaurants this week, and some cheaper but better food, I will hesitate to visit again. The menus is good, service is good, kitchen lets it down.

Despite going for a Sunday roast , due to construction works they had limited menu , we both enjoyed the food we had. Staff are great attentive but not in your face.

Very poor service and overpriced- Unfortunately the novelty has worn off with the Lime Kiln Kitchen. The service is poor, with unapologetic staff and wrong orders. 9/10 times the drinks come AFTER the food, and they come midway through the meal. You are treated like an inconvenience if part of your order doesn’t come as expected. The prices are extortionate for the portion size, and we all know the “house fries” are that shape just to get away with giving you less food for more money. We’ll be going to the Elveden Café from now on, where the service and value is leagues above this pretentious novelty.

Always helpful and polite without pouncing on you as soon as you walk through the store to give assistance. If I need help I can always find someone close by but sometimes I just like to browse myself.

Your nutella milkshakes are lush! Your staff are always cheerful and the food is always delicious! Only thing we don't like is having to wait for a table at busy times - but hey ho, we like looking around the rest of the garden centre anyway!.
